As a Media Relations assistant for the communications department, I provided support to the department and third parties, and assisted projects by writing materials such as press releases, media outreach, alumni and faculty features, and newsletters. I also assisted the running and monitoring of social media accounts affiliated with the university.

As a PR Intern for Zapwater at their headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, I was placed on ten accounts. I assisted in facilitating earned media coverage by writing press releases and media pitches, sending outreach, monitoring media coverage, and updating trackers. I had influencer relations responsibilities including building and vetting influencer lists, facilitating and monitoring outreach, coordinating with clients and influencers to schedule brand partnerships and campaigns, comped visits, and PR packages, and tracking influencer content posting and insights. My social media responsibilities included creating digital marketing materials and content for different media channels. I assisted the events team by building and vetting media and influencer invite lists, coordinating with vendors, and writing media training documents for clients. My internship also included off-site work including media trips to hotels and appearing on Good Day Chicago on Fox 32.

Grounded Co. Greencastle is a student-run nonprofit organization located in Greencastle, IN that operates as a coffee shop and community center. Grounded hosts weekly events like ‘Coffee & Christ’ and organizes volunteer opportunities for local charities like St. Andrew’s Non-Food Pantry and Beyond Homeless. I was involved with Grounded for almost three years, working first as Marketing Coordinator and then President of the nonprofit organization. As Marketing Coordinator, I ran Grounded’s social media pages and website, facilitated outreach through email for volunteers and donations, planned events, and created physical marketing materials like flyers, newsletters, and merchandise. As President, I handled finances, led Grounded’s executive team, met with local charities and churches, and I attended local nonprofit meetings for Putnam County.

As a Content Manager for DePauw Marketing Group, I directed students and built real-world marketing skills by running social media, websites, and localized marketing campaigns for local businesses. Local businesses I collaborated with through Marketing Group include Scoops Ice Cream, Harmony Music Boutique, Granola Girl Skincare, and Moore’s Bar and Grill.

As a Staff Writer for The DePauw, I was a paid team member that pitched story ideas, wrote one multiple-source story per week, and assisted in print and broadcast news production for DePauw’s TV and radio stations. I also attended staff training sessions where I learned valuable writing and editing skills from journalists at the Associated Press and the New York Times. My time as a staff writer strengthened my AP writing and editing skills, my video and audio production knowledge, and my ability to get work done on strict deadlines. In May of 2023, I was awarded the DeWitt Wallace-Reader’s Digest Print Journalism Award by the DePauw University English Department for my contributions as a staff writer.

As a Nonprofit Marketing Intern for Putnam County Comprehensive Services, I worked on and off site with PCCS members to develop marketing proposals, presentations, and strategies for the nonprofit. I created digital ads using Google Ads services, a linkedin page, and other digital marketing materials like a redesigned website, graphics, and social media content. At the end of my internship I presented the implementation of my aforementioned marketing strategies to PCCS’s board of directors.

As Earth Cup’s Campus Ambassador for DePauw University, I facilitated outreach, planned events, and created social media content to assist Earth Cup’s mission to build brand recognition on college campuses. As a Campus Ambassador, I partnered with environmental groups on campus to organize and distribute Earth Cups at large campus-wide events throughout the semester to introduce the product and offer a climate-friendly alternative to single-use plastic cups.
